Recently, the mid-term inspection meeting of the 2016 key project “High-efficiency, low-loss and special-purpose silicon steel development and application” of the key national R&D plan “Key Basic Materials Technology Improvement and Industrialization” was held in Beijing. The meeting was organized by the High-Tech Research and Development Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Specialized expert group experts, peer experts, management experts and other inspection team experts and key members of the project team attended the meeting. The high-tech center “improved key industrial materials technology and industrialization” Relevant personnel from the Key Special Management Office （hereinafter referred to as the “Special Office”） attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the person in charge of the special office introduced the basis, purpose and process of the inspection. The expert group listened to the mid-term implementation report of the project leader on the overall progress of the project, personnel and funding input, supporting supporting conditions of the project, and organization and implementation management. The expert group believes that the project as a whole is carried out according to plan, completed the mid-term research tasks, achieved the expected goals and assessment indicators, and put forward clear opinions and constructive suggestions.
The project successfully developed four very low iron loss oriented silicon steel products with 0.18, 0.20, 0.23 and 0.27mm thickness. The 0.18, 0.20mm and 065 grades are the first ultra-low iron loss oriented silicon steel products in the world. It is 10% lower than the international highest grade product, and the no-load loss is reduced by more than 30% compared with the current China Class 1 energy efficiency standard; the 0.23mm specification 075 grade has been successfully used to develop the world's highest voltage DC converter transformer, and the no-load loss is higher than the current one. The same type of transformer made of graded silicon steel was reduced by 1.8%.
