Analysis of the production and sales of sheet and strip materials by key statistical enterprises in October 2018

　　In October 2018, the output of electrical steel sheets was 680,000 tons, remaining unchanged year-on-year. Among them, the output of grain-oriented silicon steel was 120,000 tons, an increase of 10,000 tons year-on-year, up 9.1%.

　　In October, the daily output of medium and thick plate rolling mills and hot continuous rolling mills decreased significantly compared to the previous month, while the daily output of cold continuous rolling mills increased slightly. Product prices showed a downward trend. Among key varieties, the year-on-year growth in cumulative output of shipbuilding plates, bridge plates, and appliance plates was significant, all exceeding 20%, while the cumulative output of automotive steel increased by only 2%.

　　I. Strip and Sheet Rolling Mill Production Status:

　　In October, medium and thick plate rolling mills produced 4.44 million tons of extra-thick and medium-thick plates, an increase of 100,000 tons year-on-year, up 2.3%. Hot continuous rolling mills produced 13.67 million tons, a decrease of 20,000 tons year-on-year, down 0.2%; among them, the commodity volume was 7.99 million tons, a decrease of 50,000 tons year-on-year, down 0.6%. The material supplied to downstream processes was 5.68 million tons, an increase of 30,000 tons year-on-year, up 0.5%. Cold continuous rolling mills produced 5.31 million tons, an increase of 100,000 tons year-on-year, up 1.9%; among them, the commodity volume was 3.81 million tons, an increase of 30,000 tons year-on-year, up 0.8%. The material supplied to downstream processes was 1.5 million tons, an increase of 70,000 tons year-on-year, up 4.8%.

　　II. Production and Sales Status of Major Products:

　　In October, 570,000 tons of extra-thick plates were produced, an increase of 50,000 tons year-on-year, up 9.7%, with sales of 510,000 tons, including 40,000 tons of exports, and a production-sales ratio of 89.5%; the selling price was 5327 yuan/ton, a decrease of 21 yuan/ton compared to the previous month; the inventory at the end of the month was 360,000 tons, an increase of 60,000 tons compared to the previous month.

　　In October, 3.87 million tons of medium and thick plates were produced, an increase of 50,000 tons year-on-year, up 1.2%, with sales of 4.02 million tons, including 320,000 tons of exports, and a production-sales ratio of 103.9%; the selling price was 4789 yuan/ton, a decrease of 65 yuan/ton compared to the previous month; the inventory at the end of the month was 1.51 million tons, a decrease of 150,000 tons compared to the previous month.

　　In October, 5.95 million tons of medium and thick wide steel strips were produced, an increase of 40,000 tons year-on-year, up 0.7%; sales were 5.9 million tons, including 260,000 tons of exports, and a production-sales ratio of 99%; the selling price was 4382 yuan/ton, a decrease of 56 yuan/ton compared to the previous month; the inventory at the end of the month was 810,000 tons, an increase of 50,000 tons compared to the previous month.

　　In October, 2.04 million tons of hot-rolled thin wide steel strips were produced, a decrease of 90,000 tons year-on-year, down 4.2%; sales were 2.1 million tons, including 140,000 tons of exports, and a production-sales ratio of 103%; the selling price was 4386 yuan/ton, a decrease of 116 yuan/ton compared to the previous month; the inventory at the end of the month was 480,000 tons, a decrease of 50,000 tons compared to the previous month.

　　In October, 3.14 million tons of cold-rolled thin wide steel strips were produced, an increase of 40,000 tons year-on-year, up 1.2%; sales this month were 3.11 million tons, including 200,000 tons of exports, and a production-sales ratio of 99.1%; the selling price was 4890 yuan/ton, a decrease of 4 yuan/ton compared to the previous month; the inventory at the end of the month was 850,000 tons, an increase of 30,000 tons compared to the previous month.

　　In October, 1.65 million tons of galvanized sheets were produced, an increase of 120,000 tons year-on-year, up 7.9%; sales this month were 1.62 million tons, including 240,000 tons of exports, and a production-sales ratio of 98.2%; the selling price was 5507 yuan/ton, a decrease of 21 yuan/ton compared to the previous month; the inventory at the end of the month was 500,000 tons, an increase of 30,000 tons compared to the previous month.

　　In October, 100,000 tons of tinplate were produced, a decrease of 9,000 tons year-on-year, down 8.3%; 130,000 tons of color-coated plates were produced, an increase of 22,000 tons year-on-year, up 19.9%; and 680,000 tons of electrical steel sheets were produced, remaining unchanged year-on-year.

　　In October, the output of shipbuilding plates was 710,000 tons, an increase of 230,000 tons year-on-year, up 47.9%; among them, the output of high-strength shipbuilding plates was 400,000 tons, an increase of 120,000 tons year-on-year, up 42.9%. The output of boiler and pressure vessel steel plates was 270,000 tons, a decrease of 30,000 tons year-on-year, down 10.0%. The output of bridge plates was 240,000 tons, an increase of 50,000 tons year-on-year, up 26.3%. The output of pipeline steel plates was 300,000 tons, an increase of 50,000 tons year-on-year, up 20.0%. The output of container plates was 150,000 tons, a decrease of 130,000 tons year-on-year, down 46.4%. The output of automotive steel plates was 2.62 million tons, a decrease of 350,000 tons year-on-year, down 11.8%; among them, the output of galvanized automotive steel plates was 670,000 tons, an increase of 90,000 tons year-on-year, up 15.5%. The output of appliance plates was 770,000 tons, an increase of 240,000 tons year-on-year, up 45.3%. The output of electrical steel sheets was 680,000 tons, remaining unchanged year-on-year. Among them, the output of grain-oriented silicon steel was 120,000 tons, an increase of 10,000 tons year-on-year, up 9.1%. The output of hot-rolled pickled plates was 430,000 tons, an increase of 30,000 tons year-on-year, up 7.5%. The output of high-strength steel plates was 2.38 million tons, an increase of 270,000 tons year-on-year, up 12.8%.
